Delighted to share the gorgeous Vintage Mirror from Richard Taylor Designs (London, UK) hanging over our very own Noni Sofa in Wave Weave /Nimbus, with a Miramar /Shell pillow.

We used the smaller version of the same mirror in the Bathroom.

The lampshade on the Tivoli Lamp is made with our Dream Solid Sea.

Open for all to see in the month of  September!

With all the splendid attention this design is getting in the “House Beautiful” April, “Made in LA” Issue, it seemed like a perfect time to share the inspiration for this design. None other than the magnificent dome and oculus on the Pantheon In Rome. Hence the name I have given it…..ROMA! Takes your breath away……

Poppy for President!

In honor of Presidents' Day we think that Poppy strikes a very presidential posture, coordinating beautifully with the pillows in Coralshade in Sea. They would look great in the White House.

Breakwater - a Katerina Tana Collection

I am delighted to be able to share the results of this year long endeavor to create a signature tile collection with Jeffrey Court tile.

We have named it “BREAKWATER – a Katerina Tana Collection”, and it is now available to order, and view online at

Hope you enjoy exploring it!

Here it is in Sand, Gloss in the 3″ x 6″ Field .

I will continue to post highlights of it over the coming weeks.

Here is a taste of the new Ceramic Tile Collection I have designed for Jeffrey Court, a local Southern California tile maker. All hand-made locally, celebrating the century old tradition of locally crafted ceramic tile.

Ile St. Louis – Dusk

This is just the time of year that the trees on Ile St. Louis are bare, against the pale grey Paris sky, cobblestones covered in frost, on a crisp Fall morning.

Timely and timeless.

Issued this year, this is one of our Swiss prints, dye printed on Belgian Linen.

We had to share this fetching holiday portrait of our neighbor Poppy, in her seasonal attire and her exquisitely accessorized pillows (Coralshade in Sea).

For the lucky dog who has everything.

Katerina Tana tiles "Breakwater" for Santa Barbara Showcase House, Spring 2012

I am delighted to share the news, that due to the enthusiastic response to my ceramic tile collection BREAKWATER for Jeffrey Court, it will be featured at the currently “under construction” showcase house.

This is a handmade, made  in California collection, that will be available at the beginning of 2012. It is inspired by the beauty of Southern California!

There will opportunities galore to showcase my textiles (KTC LOOM) as well, and my Violetta lantern!

The areas I have been asked to design are:

The 2 bedroom Pool/Guesthouse

The Pool and Gazebo

We will keep you posted.  In the meantime here is a sneak peek at one of the deco hexagonal tiles!

Pacific Standard Time

Last night I was at the Getty Center celebration for “Pacific Standard Time”, a six month series of exhibitions saluting the contribution of the west coast artists to the art movements of the past 60 years. The exhibits span the entire region of LA and beyond. The ubiquitous freeways of LA that have been described  as the “corridors” connecting the various venues, and creating for the region a sudden intimacy.

The art on display at the Getty is jaw dropping, and a joy to see pieces of such scale and beauty in the hallowed halls. Must see!

Art Platform at the LA Mart was a terrific gathering of galleries from near and far. Loved seeing the new additions to the Flowers Gallery, London roster; Mona Kuhn and Robert Polidori, and the always wonderful Nicola Hicks and Patrick Hughes.
